Tactile paving victory

Another victory for New Eltham blind rights campaigner, Dr Amit Patel! Eltham Station is to have tactile paving installed by Spring next year, together with 18 other locations. Currently the paving is only on part of the ‘down’ line platform. Dr Patel raised the problem with Network Rail, who have since surveyed all locations where it is missing. His campaigning has also won a promise of the return of the High Street pelican crossing between Lidl and Next.
