August’s SEnine, issue 225, is available now, both in print form, and online, here on the website.

The cover shot is of a spectacular Rose Chafer beetle, taken by local nature-lover Kare Martin.

The main news story hears from local SE9 residents, who are challenging Royal Borough of Greenwich council’s decisions of the sitings for HMOs in their streets. Other news stories look at a u-turn from Southeastern trains on their much-criticised timetable reforms from a few years back.

Meanwhile, John Kennett’s Historic Eltham looks at the history of a single road in New Eltham – Larchwood Road. While John Webb looks at the fascinating history on show at Sidcup’s Police Museum.

As always, there is plenty to find out about in SPY – and SEnine Out is great for ideas on what to do in and around SE9!
